Magic Pan

Being a stay-at-home-mom (SAHM) is really stressful. Just thinking of what meal you'll gonna prepare for breakfast, lunch and dinner will make you think blank at times. And one option is just to dine-out or take out from "carenderia" (local eatery), fast food chain, resto and the like...that is if you're lazy to buy stuffs to cook.  Well, fastfood chains here in our town (Solano,NV) have been reigning for years,like Jollibee,Greenwhich,Chowking and McDonald's. I admit that I'd been crazy with their food before, but there will really come a time that you feel fatigued with the taste. Now, I'm more than happy that despite living here in the province for almost a year since we left Manila, I can see that our town is really improving and it's just like living in the city.  Quite a few high-end restaurants are popping here and there. And this newly opened casual resto called Magic Pan intrigued me because of my sister who went there and had dinner together with her bf. She told me that the food she ordered was great, affordable and in generous serving (one serving is actually good for 2-3 persons). Wow! Isn't that great if you're on a tight budget but still want to indulge yourself with scrumptious food at an affordable price? And she told me that they also have "chapchae" (Korean version of pansit). Well, I have to make a separate blog of this, my Korean Food Toplists. So, one afternoon my husband asked me if I want to try it out at Magic Pan..well of course I answered him "Yes". Together with our 2 girls,we took a stroll going to the park because Magic Pan is located at the Children's Park here in our town. It's a perfect place because many moms and kids hang out there in the afternoon so kids get weary and sleep early at night, right mommies? lol. And when you get tired, automatically food is the next thing in mind. After playing we headed to Magic Pan. It has a cozy ambiance and air-conditioned which is so relaxing specially during summer season. I checked their menu right away and ordered "chapchae". Too bad, they ran out of Korean noodles. So I changed my order to "bulgogi",another Korean dish just like beef tapa. My husband ordered his favorite stromboli ham and cheese flavor which we often order at Balai Gloria (fine dining resto here in our town).

Maybe I was expecting too much to taste an authentic Korean bulgogi dish that my palate wasn't pleased. They adapted it to "Filipino beef tapa" taste. Maybe it's in the sauce used in marinating the meat because Korean's have these special sauce that aren't available here in the province, that made the taste different from the usual bulgogi I had tasted from my Korean students before.

My husband really liked this Stromboli the first time we tried this at Balai Gloria. It's very cheesy inside. This is actually a pizza rolled bread with ham and cheese inside.

Next time I'll visit this place, I'll try their crepes and milkshake. Since this is the only resto in town that offers crepes. So guys if you plan for a date, why not head to Magic Pan? It might suit your palate and your pocket as well..
